Module 3: Mentor Professional Knowledge
Welcome to Mentor Professional Knowledge module.
This module is comprised of the following 3 lessons:

Knowledge of Standards
This lesson will support mentors in examining subject matter and grade level standards. Participants will also examine how to differentiate standards-based and multicultural instruction. Using the Common Core State Standards, participants will design a lesson for culturally and linguistically diverse students.
Assessment of Students
This lesson will support mentors in their understanding of student assessment. The participants will become familiar with both formative and summative assessment tools to support and guide new teachers in their ability to impact student learning.
Assessment of Teachers
This lesson will support mentors in understanding of adult learning. Participants will become familiar with the principles of adult learning. In addition, they will examine standards for teaching performance and learn how to assess new teachers’ knowledge base and repertoire of teaching strategies.
